Embark on a creative and immersive journey into the ancient Japanese art of Shohin Bonsai. Whether you’re new to bonsai or a seasoned enthusiast, this workshop offers an in-depth, hands-on experience to bring your artistic vision to life. Learn how to transform a pre-bonsai into a stunning masterpiece through techniques like designing, pruning, wiring, potting, and maintenance.
Workshop Highlights
🌿 Duration: 4–5 hours (including a 15-20 minute break).
🌿 What You’ll Learn:
• Step-by-step guidance from pre-bonsai to a finished bonsai creation.
• Techniques for pruning, wiring, and styling your bonsai.
• Proper potting and soil preparation with Akadama soil.
• Tips for long-term bonsai care and maintenance.
Materials Provided:
🌱 Choose from premium pre-bonsai plants:
• Pearl Juniper (20-25cm tall)
• Taiwan Juniper (20-25 cm tall, Juniperus chinensis)
• Japanese Black Pine (20-25cm)
• Japanese Shimpaku Juniper (20–25cm tall).
🌱 Bonsai pot, Akadama soil, crafting wire, and lecture notes.
🌱 You’ll leave with your own handcrafted bonsai and the skills to nurture it.
Please bring your own writing materials if you’d like to take additional notes during the session.

Housed in a fan-ventilated greenhouse, the space feels like a lush living atelier, where botanical craft, community spirit, and creative calm come together in a tranquil, nature-infused setting.
Driving Directions:
From Punggol East Road, turn left onto Tebing Lane and proceed to the carpark at the extreme left to locate City Sprouts Punggol Greenhouse.
