This is a special edition of our Mini Bonsai "Prune & Shape" workshop using the very unique and unusual Japanese Sekka Hinoki Pre-Bonsai.
Join us for a fun Mini Bonsai "Prune & Shape" workshop for a hands-on experience in pruning and shaping a Mini Jaoanese Sekka Hinoki pre-bonsai plant in a plastic pot approximately 15cm -20cm tall within just 30-45 minutes! Delve into the art of bonsai cultivation, learning basic techniques to craft interesting miniature trees. Sekka Hinoki (Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Sekka')
Sekka Hinoki is a dwarf cultivar of cypress native to Japan. It is an attractive tree with finely crimped leaves that are hard and small but look good. They have small tight foliage and make excellent mame and shohin bonsai.The leaves can be enjoyed all year round, and it is a tree species that is easy to grow because it is resistant to heat and cold. It is a bonsai that can be enjoyed widely by beginners.
Watering:
Water when the top surface soil gets dry.
Sunlight
Minimum 3 hours of gentle to moderate direct sunlight. During very hot and dry weather months (possibly March to June), place it in a well-ventilated place away from too strong direct sunlight.
Fertilisation
Give organic or commercial fert once in a while.
