The Art of Miniature Bonsai
Bonsai is the art of growing and shaping trees to capture the essence of Nature in aminiature form. The Japanese art of Miniature Bonsai gardening brings it to another level higher. It is a new experience in modern Bonsai Cultivation.
As rewarding as full-scale bonsai cultivation is, mini bonsai cultivation is affordable, easy to learn, kind to your busy schedule and doesn’t occupy much of the limited space that we have.
Our Mini Bonsai, uses good quality medium mix, offering the key balance of breathability, moisture retention and drainage.
Caring for your Bonsai Plant
Place it under bright sunlight for a minimum of 3 hours every day. Alternatively; can also use grow light for minimum of eight hours at 12-16cm close.
Water whenever the soil appears dry and it is almost like daily.
Maintenance pruning is required to maintain a trees' shape. To do so, simply prune branches/shoots that have outgrown the intended canopy-size/shape using twig shears or a normal pointed sharp scissor.
Fertilizing regularly during the growth period is crucial for your Bonsai to survive. Normal trees are able to extend their root system looking for nutrients; Bonsai however are planted in rather small pots and need to be fertilized in order to replenish the soil's nutritional content. We recommend our Japanese organic slow release fertiliser made from soya bean. Use 1 tablet for a small mini bonsai. Put tablet into container and inserted above soil and water together with bonsai. Throw away remaining residue in bin and change another tablet on a monthly basis.
