Tillandsia funckiana clump in drift wood
Tillandsia funckiana is one that you will not want to miss in your collection. It originates from Central America, namely Venezuala. An extraordinary species that produces bright scarlet-red flowers when in bloom which is rare for Tillandsias. It is a small plant of 10 – 20 cm with silvery grey pine needle-like leaves growing along a stem.
Funckiana looks delicate and graceful and when you manage to grow into a clump it looks absolutely spectacular. Funckianas love the sun and water. And keep them hydrated if you want to prevent the ends of the plant from drying out.
