Paphiopedilum Maudiae Yellow
Paphiopedilum Maudiae is a hybrid between Paph. callosum and Paph. lawrenceanum that has been around for more than a century. This ‘Yellow’ variety has a fresh yellow lower lip, the ‘slipper’, and subtle light green spots on the lateral sepals. The ‘crown’ is striped with light green that fades into white.
Paphiopedilums are nicknamed Slipper Orchids because of their lower lip that has been modified to resemble a pouch. The pouch traps pollinators in such a way that their only way out involves collecting or depositing pollen. These intricate and exquisite orchids and bloom up to 3 months, making it a perfect accent for the home or a gift for an orchid-lover.
Care for your Slipper Orchid in bright indirect light. We recommend a well-draining medium like pine bark or charcoal for your orchid. Fertilise with flowering fertilizer regularly after the bloom has withered.
