Dischidia nummularia (String of Nickels)
Dischidia nummularia is a quirky, tidy-looking vine with almost perfectly round, flat shapes for leaves. Also known as the String of Nickels, this fresh green vine looks almost like a string of paper cutouts, or a string of chocolate buttons! Enjoy this plant as a hanging plant, or train it up a trellis.
Dischidia is a genus of mostly succulent, epiphytic vines in the Apocynaceae family. They are closely related to Hoyas, however their flowers are generally quite small, although some of them are also fragrant like Hoyas. They are found distributed throughout tropical Asia and so are very suitable for growing in our climate. Dischidias tend to enjoy quite bright, indirect light to some direct light. As they are succulent, you can afford to water less frequently then other vining plants. Feel free to trim the vines to the desired length when overgrown.
This product comes in a white hanging pot (D8.5cm, hanger length 19cm). Please note that the length of the vines will vary.
